Friday, December 13, 2013

Class from 12/13

Chapter 4.2 Story Problems. We will be applying synthetic division and finding zeros of polynomials to real world context.

Wednesday, December 11, 2013

Class on Block 12/9 and 12/10

We will cover more of 4.2. We will use Descartes Rule, Upper and Lower Bounds, and Possible Zero Theorems to help solve for the zeros in a 4th or 5th degree polynomial.

Friday, December 6, 2013

Class on 12/6

This is the first day of 4.2. We will factor polynomial functions with real and complex zeros. We will also talk about the multiplicity of zeros.

Chapter 3 Review

We will review chapter 3 today. Tomorrow will test on the computational stuff and the stories problems and operations on functions stuff will be Friday. Good Luck!

Friday, November 15, 2013

Class from 11/15

Chapter 3.5. We will be performing operations on functions and identifying the resulting domains.

Thursday, November 14, 2013

Class from Block 11/13-11/14

We will find the average rates of change for given intervals on curves using secant lines.

Friday, November 8, 2013

Class from 11/8

Chapter 3.3 continued. We will look at maximizing profit for a company. This includes finding y-intercepts, x-intercepts, and the vertex for a quadratic function.

Thursday, November 7, 2013

Class from 11/7

We will look at graphing  quadratic functions using the completing the square method (vertical and horizontal shifts) and the quadratic formula (vertex). This is the start of chapter 3.3.

Wednesday, November 6, 2013

Class on 11/6

We will look at solving quadratic functions in the context of projectiles, business, and finding dimensions of rectangles. This is the end of chapter 3.2

Class on 11/4 and 11/5 Block Day

We will look at chapter 3.2 and solve quadratic functions using multiple methods.

Class on 11/1

We will discuss imaginary numbers today from chapter 3.1

Unit Circle

Below is a picture of the unit circle we were building in class. Remember that all of the points on the unit circle can be found using the 2 special triangles shown (30/60/90 or 45/45/90). Then you just need to reflect/rotate those triangles to find all 16 points. The second image is a completed unit circle with all coordinate points and angles.
